Position Title: Finance Manager, Grant Finance

Reports to: Associate Director of Grant Finance

Location: Employees in this role can work from our Boston, MA office, remotely within the U.S., or a hybrid of these options, with up to 15% international travel.

Employment Type: Full time, grant-funded through 12/31/2027 with the potential for extension based on available funding.

Position Overview:

Partners In Health (PIH) is seeking a detail-oriented, results-driven Finance Manager with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills to join the Grant Finance team. The role involves leading financial management and oversight of a portfolio of PIH grants across multiple regions, including Haiti, Peru, Rwanda, Mexico, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Malawi, Lesotho, Russia, Kazakhstan, and Navajo Nation. The Finance Manager will collaborate with staff across project teams to ensure effective financial management, timely delivery, scope adherence, and quality standards. The role also includes supervising staff members to support their contributions to financial management and team priorities.

This position is contingent on donor funding, and PIH cannot support visa sponsorship for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Fund Management, Analysis, and Reporting: Prepare accurate external financial reports, monitor grant spending, manage quarterly drawdowns, invoices, fund transfers, establish financial tracking tools, participate in fiscal year reporting, and respond to financial inquiries.
  • Budgeting: Lead proposal budget development, revisions, reallocations, and ensure accurate projections within PIH systems.
  • Financial Compliance: Coordinate with award managers, work with auditors, and ensure compliance with funder requirements and internal policies.
  • Staff Management: Develop capacity-building plans for team members, supporting their grant management capabilities and system usage.

International travel may be required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; Master's preferred.
  • At least seven years of experience managing multi-country awards with high compliance donors like USAID, Unitaid, and the Global Fund.
  • Experience supervising staff.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially advanced Excel skills.
  • Experience managing financial projects across multiple countries.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across diverse teams.
  • Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues.
  • Comfort with established processes and a capacity for process improvement.
  • Ability to work U.S. Eastern Time hours.
  • Interest in social justice is highly desirable.

Pay and Benefits:

The starting salary range is $80,000–$85,000/year, depending on experience and market factors. The salary range for this role is $70,000–$95,000/year. Benefits include a 401(k) plan with employer match, health insurance, paid time off, and holidays.
