Job Description

We are seeking a technically talented and creative Front-End Developer to join our dynamic, early-stage team full-time. You'll play a pivotal role in designing and implementing user interfaces that enable interaction with complex 3D assets through our state of the art neural rendering techniques, within highly regulated industries. We are conquering the $400B Virtual Training and Simulation market with state-of-the-art tools and want a fast-moving technical specialist who can grow into larger roles and responsibilities as we progress.

Our platform ingests vast amounts of structured and unstructured data, including 3D scans, dense technical documentation, and user interactions. We need a versatile data engineer to build out robust data pipelines, infrastructure, and analytical tools. This is a high-impact, cross-functional role. You will work end-to-end on everything from cloud architecture and infrastructure-as-code to data ingestion, machine learning pipelines, and multi-modal outputs that empower our internal teams and external customers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop User Interfaces: Design and build responsive, user-friendly interfaces that are in line with Schemata's visual and technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Members: Work closely with other members of the team and customers to create cohesive and engaging user experiences.
  • Implement New Technologies: Stay current with the latest front-end technologies and methodologies, applying them where necessary to enhance our neural rendering platform.
  • Optimize Performance: Ensure efficient loading and optimal performance of all front-end elements, focusing on both desktop, mobile, and edge platforms.
  • Maintain Code Quality: Follow and contribute to our coding standards, participating in code reviews to maintain a high-quality codebase.
  • Accessibility Compliance: Build accessible web applications, considering all aspects of usability and compliance with web accessibility standards.

Qualifications

Essentials:

  • Strong fluency in TypeScript, React, Next.js, and CSS.
  • A good eye for UI/UX, the ability to build performant and responsive web dashboards, and to architect interaction with APIs.
  • A strong understanding of the product cycle, and the ability to communicate with clients + incorporate user feedback.
  • A strong design/website portfolio, which we can look at.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-changing startup environment, learn new technologies on the fly, and wear many hats.
  • Experience building reusable components as part of a design system

Nice to have:

  • Design proficiency: Experience designing applications in Figma or comparable software.
  • Web Graphics: Proficiency with web graphics frameworks such as Babylon.js, WebGL, and Three.js. Experience implementing smooth, performant animations using CSS, JavaScript, or animation libraries.
  • App development: Proficiency with React Native, Flutter, or any other mobile application framework.
  • Backend development: Proficiency with AWS, Docker, Flask, and PostgreSQL. Ability to monitor, diagnose, and improve web app performance. Knowledge of tools like Lighthouse, WebPageTest, or Core Web Vitals.
  • Specific Industry experience: Defense, Mining, Energy, or other highly regulated industries.

Why Join Us?

  • Own and shape the platform engineering function at a fast-growing company
  • Tackle unique, high-impact infrastructure and data challenges at the intersection of AI, spatial computing, and neural rendering
  • Work with a world-class team of engineers, researchers, and product builders, solving real-world problems in high-stakes industries
  • Fast-paced, high-ownership environment—your work will directly impact the scalability, reliability, and performance of our core products
